Missional Reading List for Your Home

I have tried to be a continuous learner. I have had the chance to meet both David Platt and Brandon Hatmaker and I would recommend both of the following books. Each will help you think differently about how you are using your home.

Barefoot Church: Serving the Least in a Consumer Culture by Brandon Hatmker (Zondervan)

In Barefoot Church Brandon Hatmaker offers ways to equip believers to live outside of themselves giving practical ideas for creating service-based, missional communities. He also offers suggestions for how the church can be restructured to become a transformative, vibrant ministry that produces service, evangelism, and discipleship. It serves as a blueprint for how Christians can band together to create godly change in the world, and end up changing themselves most of all. As Hatmaker writes, “My hope is that God would open our eyes more and more to the needs of our community. and that we would see it as the church’s responsibility to lead the charge.”

Radical Together by David Platt (Multnomah)

In Radical Together: Unleashing the People of God for the Purpose of God, David broadens his call and challenges Christians to unite around a God-centered vision. He asks how doing so might reshape our priorities. He shows how a correct understanding of the church in six critical areas will fuel radical obedience.
