Power of the Home is the LifeWay Marriage & Family expression of the Adult Ministry strategy (Connect, Grow, Serve, Go). This strategy is apart of a larger initiative to provide resources for churches and individuals from Birth to Heaven, called LifeSPAN.
LifeWay Marriage and Family Ministry desires to engage the power of the home, encouraging people to connect with God and each other through personal relationships.
Mark 12:29-31 This is the most important, “Jesus answered: Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, The Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. “The second is: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.”
John 14:6 “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
Ephesians 6:1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, because this is right. Honor your father and mother – which is the first commandment with a promise – that it may go well with you and that you make have long life in the land. And fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
We will equip individuals and families to understand God’s Word better through discipleship.
Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Matthew 10:24-25 “A disciple is not above his teacher, or a slave above his master. It is enough for a disciple to become like his teacher and a slave like his master. If they called the head of the house ‘Beelzebul,’ how much more the members of his household!”
Matthew 16:24 “If anyone wants to come with Me he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.”
We will challenge individuals and families to serve through spiritual giftedness.
1 Peter 4:10-11 Based on the gift they have received, everyone should use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God. If anyone speaks, [his speech should be] like the oracles of God; if anyone serves, [his service should be] from the strength God provides, so that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
James 1:27
“Pure and undefiled religion before out God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”Acts 2:44-45 “Now all the believers were together and had everything in common. So they sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had need.”
All of these things seek to make disciples of all nations. We desire for individuals and families to adopt a missional attitude that will seek the lost in their neighborhoods and around the world.
Matthew 28:19-20 “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you.
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses is Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
